The fictional character Lou McKinsey reflects on how everyone seems to be searching for the fountain of youth, not only these days but considering that for many years, man has desired to attain youth forever…This legendary quest was explored in this whimsical story. The inquisitive protagonist searches for the fountain of youth which was assumed to be attained in an ancient land; however, he starts this quest casually only locally and then later travels to Europe with his friend Stradley. This mission proved to be enlightening and informative. In the past renowned explorers, expeditions proved to be futile. Throughout history, visionaries have sought magical ways to restore their youth. One seeker thought we should age backward. An ancient Greet poet ‘Homer’ called old age “loathsome.” And William Shakespeare regards age as the “Hideous winter.” A reflection states, “Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance”- David Mamet.” Old age used is like a plane flying through a storm once you’re aboard, there’s nothing you can do.”- Golda Meir. These bleak reflections embrace the need for mankind to reverse the aging process. Numerous paintings depict the splendid fountain of youth fantasy.
