Meditation is defined as the process through which the person observes and becomes aware of what is happening at every moment in his body and his mind, accepting the experiences that are presented as they are. This practice, taught by Buddha, aims to eliminate suffering and other destructive emotions, since, from the Buddhist point of view, both happiness and suffering do not depend fundamentally on external circumstances, but on the mind itself. Mindfulness and spirituality are effortless ways to help alleviate that suffering. We could define it as the art of making conscious sensations of our body that normally go unnoticed by us; since even though we have this ability, we rarely use it consciously and rarely for more than a few seconds. Mindfulness is not something new and takes us back to the ancient tradition of meditation which is more than many years old no matter where you are in your life, mindfulness can transform your existence for the better. People often turn to mindfulness in difficult times: during a divorce or breakup, after losing a loved one, when diagnosed with a critical illness, or just amid an extra period of stress in their lives.
